Books Listening is a browser-based application. We collect no personal information from users of the app itself.

The following data is stored only on your device using your browser's local storage:

• Books you save to your personal library
• Your reading position and bookmarks
• Notes and pins you create
• Your voice, speed, and theme preferences
• Your license key (to verify Pro activation)
• Your trial start date

None of this data is transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2. What We Don't Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or any account information
• We do not upload, read, or analyze your books
• We do not track which books you read
• We do not use analytics or tracking cookies in the app
• We do not sell any data — there is no data to sell

3. Purchase Information (Gumroad)

Books Listening is sold through Gumroad. When you purchase, your payment and email are handled by Gumroad under their own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of your purchase and your license key — we do not receive or store your payment card details.

4. The Landing Page (bookslistening.com)

Our website is hosted on HostGator. Standard web server logs may record your IP address and browser type when you visit the site — this is standard for all web hosting and is not used to identify you personally.

The landing page does not use advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or cookies.

5. Third-Party APIs Used in the App

The app optionally uses these external APIs — all are opt-in and only activated by your explicit action:

• Free Dictionary API — when you click a word to look it up. The word is sent to their server; no personal information is included.
• MyMemory Translation API — when you use the translate feature. The text is sent to their server; no personal information is included.
• OpenAI / ElevenLabs — only if you choose to connect your own API key for cloud voices. Your API key is stored in your browser only.

6. Children's Privacy

Books Listening is designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we collect no personal information at all, this is inherently satisfied.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
